Open Letter from Yung Rhee, Image International Music Festival
Hi All!
In August of 2010, I will be directing a piano summer camp held in Los Angeles at the Colburn School of Music. Featured in this camp are pianists Menahem Pressler, Ory Shihor, Evelyne Brancart, Francoise Regnat, and myself, Yung Mee Rhee. Pressler and Shihor will be conducting master classes alongside Evelyne Brancart's seminar, The Art of Playing the Piano, and students will be participating in these master classes as well as private lessons, camp recitals, and a competition. They will also be attending a concert at Walt Disney Concert Hall, and a performance by Emanuel Ax at the Hollywood Bowl. Housing and Food is provided and the 2-week experience will be a memorable one.
Recently, I sent out information regarding Evelyne Brancart's seminar, and would now like to open this summer camp opportunity to all aspiring pianists. It would be greatly appreciated if you could forward this message to your MTAC/MTNA members. The festival is from August 1st to August 12th, and there are substantial scholarships available for those who qualify. Originally the deadline for application was June 15th, but it has been extended to June 25th. That is the final cut-off date.
For scholarships, students must take these two steps:
1. Send in a recording of their playing either via youtube, mp3, or CD.
2. Complete the application attached and send in via email (essentially this is for background information; a resume is fine)
