Music teachers, as well as students, institutions, corporations and private persons, can join MTOD to help develop and support local music education and activities in the area.

All teachers who are members of MTOD are also members of CAPMT (California Asociation of Professional Music Teachers) and MTNA (Music Teachers National Assiciation). This allows local teachers to be aware of programs and standards established by the State and National organizations. They have access to musical tools and publications that help them keep abreast of new developments, artists, concerts, music schools, and helpful suggestions of outstanding teachers and performers.

To join MTOD, one must become a member of MTNA. This will also provide membership in CAPMT, and MTOD. Apply to become a MTNA/CAPMT/MTOD member here:

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

Active Membership
is available to any individual professionally engaged in a music activity who is also a member of an affiliated state association. Individuals over age 70 qualify for Senior Membership rates.

Collegiate Membership is open to all college music students who are also members of an affiliated state association and a collegiate chapter if available.

Corporate & Institutional Membership offers a wide variety of benefits including a link from MTNA’s website to the corporation’s website; official recognition as a corporate or institutional member in American Music Teacher magazine and at the national conference, special discounts on national conference exhibit space, MTNA publications, and mailing lists.

Patron Membership
is open to all individuals who are not professionally engaged in any field of musical activities but wish to support the programs on MTNA.

Six-Month Membership is available to individuals meeting active membership criteria who have never been MTNA members.
